Course Overview
Course 3 in the Leading Through Crisis: Behavioral Health and Crisis Intervention Series.
Leaders will learn how to create and scale department-wide behavioral health response plans, including collaboration with mental health professionals, data tracking, and accountability measures. This course explores successful models from across the country, ranging from mobile crisis units to embedded social workers, and discusses how agencies of all sizes can adapt similar frameworks. Participants will also learn how to engage with policymakers, behavioral health partners, and the public to create buy-in and align resources. By the end of the course, each leader will have a blueprint for sustainable, system-wide improvement that balances officer safety, public wellbeing, and the long-term health of their communities.
