The OEDI Annual Session is a 4-day, intensive leadership training for current and future public safety leaders. For the OEDI 2026 Annual Session, we’re proud to unveil an innovative, forward-thinking curriculum developed specifically for this upcoming week-long Leadership Training Summit for Oregon’s public safety professionals. This revitalized program reflects the evolving challenges and opportunities faced by today’s first responders, law enforcement, fire services, corrections, emergency management, and public sector leaders.
Rooted in innovation and collaboration, the curriculum integrates cutting-edge leadership models, scenario-based decision-making, strategic critical thinking, relationship-centered interpersonal skills development strategies, and adaptive crisis leadership skills, all with an underlying theme of servant leadership. Through a dynamic mix of expert-led instruction, peer learning, and real-time problem solving, participants will leave equipped not only with new tools to solve the pressing issues facing public safety leaders but with a renewed sense of purpose and confidence in leading Oregon forward.
This is more than just training – it’s a launchpad for the next generation of resilient, inspired leadership in Oregon public safety.
- This year’s session will include a 10-hour online pre-course (required prior to session) and 37 hours of in-class training.
- Who Should Apply? – Current and future leaders from public safety (police, corrections, fire, telecom, P & P, private security), military, private sector with a nexus to public safety and Higher Ed.
- Undergraduate level college credits available to interested attendees.
OEDI SESSION XXXVII (2026) will be held at Spirit Mountain Conference Center in beautiful Grand Ronde, Oregon, a premier training site offering special accommodations for OEDI’s unique program. The rural setting and first-class facilities allow participants to concentrate on the educational experience and networking opportunities fundamental to relationship building, a cornerstone to the session.
Registration Fee: $1,650 – Registration begins July, 2025
Fee includes 47 hours of exceptional leadership training; full meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner); AM/PM breaks including coffee, tea service, fresh fruit, snacks and sodas; instructional materials pre-loaded on an Amazon Fire Tablet and special networking events and refreshments.

Refund Policy – Due to the financial commitment OEDI must make well in advance of each session, no refunds will be granted beyond February 6, 2026.
Lodging: Note, for the Annual Session, past practice has been to include lodging in the registration fee. However, beginning in 2026, attendees will make their own lodging reservations and OEDI will lower the attendance fee accordingly. This will help streamline the registration process and give attendees more lodging options.

Scholarship Request
Criteria for Selecting Scholarship Recipients: Size of agency/organization for which the requester is employed; overall budget; training budget; number of scholarship requests per training event; available funds; special need or other consideration; preference given to current OEDI members (at least 90 days).
